First of all, we need to understand some commonly used high-speed board models. This is mentioned in the material pyramid in the basic classification of PCB boards. The following are some of our commonly used boards, such as: IT988GSE, M7(G)N, M6(G),
IT968(SE), MW4000/3000/2000/1000, Tu933++, M4(S), IT958G, Tu872SLK(sp), S6/S7439, IT170GRA1/2, Tu862HF, etc. (in no particular order), of course there are many others I won’t list them all here.Taking into account the characteristics of the materials and the delivery date, if these materials are in the material library, the general high-speed board requirements can be better satisfied.
Second, we need to understand our real needs.That is, whether the products we design have some special requirements, in general, the following situations need special consideration:
1. The signal trace length exceeds the design requirements more;
2. There are high-speed signals on the board, such as the signal rate exceeding 10Gbps or 25Gbps;
3. Multi-layer boards but small thickness, such as 0.8mm 10-layer board, 1.6mm 14-layer board or more;
4. There is a radio frequency signal on the board.
